The fishing has been good on lake fork as we approach the month of June. Many bass came up to spawn at the same time during the last couple of months. As a result, many bass are moving out to post spawn areas at the same time and grouping up very well. Fishing points, humps, and other off shore structure has been producing good numbers of fish. Fishing 6-12 feet around grass is still producing fish as well on windy overcast days and in the mornings. The best baits to use around the grass are a Phenix Vibe Jig paired with a LFT live magic shad and a light Texas rig LFT Hyper stick. Shad patterns blue gill patterns have worked best on the moving baits. The best colors on plastics have been chartreuse pepper and watermelon chartreuse. Chartreuse pepper is very effective when fishing deeper the 30 feet. The use of electronics is important this time of year. Idle over points and humps from 20-35 feet and look for fish to be in that range. A caronlina rigged Hyper stick has been awesome for deep fish. It has lots of subtle action and is very natural looking. Good luck fishing and watch out for stumps!
